Every two days, Slavik and his family disassemble their chum, a tipi-like self made tent, and move to a new camp, where they will stay for only a couple of days, after which they will set off again, travelling the vast lands as they graze their reindeers. Slavik is just seven, he prefers to stay home and play, rather than covering tens of kilometres in the Tundra. But then, his family is an ardent follower of the ancient herding tradition. As they have to disassemble the chum and untie almost 6000 reindeers, even the youngest children become indispensable helpers. However, Slavik and other children will soon go to a boarding school. Slavik has never experienced the bustle and hustle of a city; eventually, he'll have to grasp not just maths but how to sleep in a normal bed. How will his first experience with the «civilised» world play out?
